The draw for the first round of the 2024/2025 JW Hunt Cup has officially been made, marking the beginning of another thrilling season of charity football.

The competition, sponsored by the Gough Group Ltd, which first kicked off in 1926, has been a proud supporter of the Beacon Centre for the Blind, raising over £400,000 for the charity throughout its history.

Lisa Cowley, Chief Executive of Beacon, expressed her gratitude to the teams involved, stating:  “We are incredibly thankful to all the teams participating in the JW Hunt Cup this year. Your continued support makes a significant difference in the lives of those we serve, and we are honoured to be part of this wonderful tradition.”

JW Hunt Cup President, Alex Hamil MBE, also extended his best wishes to the participating teams. He said: “Good luck to all the teams competing this season. The JW Hunt Cup has a rich history, and it’s fantastic to see it continue to support such a worthy cause. Let’s make this year another memorable one!”

The competition will see matches played across the West Midlands during August, September, and October. This year’s kick off comes shortly after representatives from the JW Hunt Cup visited Beacon to hand over their most recent donation, further strengthening the bond between the two organisations.
