There are five women on this picture and a dog. They are all dressed in Santa outfits and they are holding a large banner promoting our Santa Run. They are in West Park and behind them is a bandstand.

FESTIVE fundraisers can sign up for Wolverhampton’s Santa Run in aid of the Beacon Centre for the Blind.

Tickets are on sale for the 5k event at Wolverhampton’s West Park which is hoped will be bigger than ever with a record number of early entries signing up in 2022.

It is taking place at Wolverhampton’s West Park on Sunday, 4th, December and there will be plenty of festive fun for all the family.

Everyone (including our four-legged doggy friends) can sign up to take part in the 5k event, which is sponsored by aerospace technology company Collins Aerospace.

All finishers will get a medal and can take their Santa suit home (or hat for children).

Beacon’s Supporter Engagement Manager Sophie Higgins said: “Our Santa Run is one of our most popular events at Beacon and we’re all so excited for it to return this year.

“The event is all about having some festive fun, so whether you plan to walk, jog, or walk the 5K route, it will be a Christmas morning to remember in aid of Beacon.”

Kate Akery, Commercial Finance Director at Collins Aerospace -Actuation Systems in Wolverhampton said: “Through the work of our Ability Employee Resource Group at Collins, we’ve been able to create an ongoing partnership with the Beacon Centre so that together we can support people with sight loss. I’d encourage everyone to get involved with the Santa Run this year and raise money for this wonderful charity.”

Tickets for the Santa Run are £10 for adults, £5 for children, and £3 for dogs.

Runners who can raise a £50 sponsorship target will also get a Beacon pin badge.
