Life at Beacon Centre is vibrant and full of opportunities for social engagement, learning, and recreation. We offer a variety of activities tailored to your interests and abilities, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Here are just some of the things you can expect, Swimming, Horse Riding, Gardening, Craft, Trips out, Cooking, IT training and more.

Adapted Gym
At Beacon our adaptive gym facilities allow people of all ages and abilities to exercise in a safe and friendly environment.
We can provide tailored supported individual sessions, group sessions or you are able to use the gym independently dependant on your needs. Our gym consists of a multitude of exercise machines and equipment, in an environment that is VI friendly and easily accessible.
Whether you require 1-1 support, personalised plans or a friendly group of people to help motivate you, we are here to support you.
Low Vision Aids
Visit our Low Vision Hub where you will be able to view a large range of adaptive aids and adaptations to help you with daily activities, such as: Optical magnifiers, digital magnifiers, lighting, filter glasses, household items and much more. Our Sight Loss Advisors will be on hand to provide practical information, advice and guidance to find products that best suit you.

Transport
With our fleet of minibuses, we provide a variety of transport services, from community activity bookings to medical appointments door-to-door so you don’t have to worry.

Through our befriending programmes, we aim to reduce the isolation that often comes with sight loss.
Our services connect individuals with peers and volunteers, fostering friendships and a sense of belonging within a supportive community. We offer regular calls or home visits from one of our friendly DBS-Checked volunteers who will be chosen to work with you based on common interests.
