Learning & Education
We know that people with sight loss can face all kinds of barriers when it comes to getting on in life, but whether you want to find an accessible educational course, learn how to use a mobile phone with sight loss, or just improve your day-to-day skills so you feel a bit more confident, we can help.
Our Learning team offer the only locally based services for those with sight loss wanting to access education or training opportunities, learn new skills or even take on a volunteer placement.
Placements and Volunteering
Explore opportunities across Beacon and beyond where you can take part in training to gain new skills and gain confidence in a supportive environment.
We also provide placements within our Talking News and IT departments or can assist in finding opportunities with local employers.

We’ll help you find the right course, support you through the application process, and ensure an inclusive environment at your chosen college or university.
