Run 150 challenge

This year, we’re inviting you to take part in Beacon’s Run 150 Challenge — a flexible fundraising campaign in honour of our 150th anniversary. Whether you’re running  (or walking!) your first 5K or smashing a marathon, your steps will help create a brighter future for blind and partially sighted people across the Black Country and beyond.

If you want to take part, all you need to do is follow the three easy steps below.

Step 1: Choose Your Challenge

Pick a running goal that suits you best:

  • 🏁 Sign up to an organised race via our Run for Charity events page — choose from 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or Full Marathon distances

  • 🏃 Prefer to go virtual? Complete your chosen distance in your own time and location throughout June — solo or with friends! You can set up a Just Giving page here.

  • 👟Whether you’re lacing up for your first race or logging miles on your own terms, every step supports Beacon’s mission.

Step 2: Fundraise for Beacon

Pledge to raise £150 to mark Beacon’s 150th year.
Once you register, you’ll receive:

  • A custom JustGiving fundraising page (we’ll help you set it up)

  • Our Run 150 fundraising toolkit packed with social media graphics, top tips and inspiration

  • Dedicated support from our team to help you hit your target

Step 3: Get Your 150th Anniversary Race Pack

Everyone who signs up and raises funds will receive:

🎖️ A Beacon 150 thank you medal
📜 A commemorative certificate
📌 A Beacon branded 150th pin badge
📣 A special shout-out on our social media channels

Bonus! Raise over £150 and you’ll also receive an exclusive Beacon branded t-shirt – perfect for your next race!
