What’s On October 2025

Join us for a fantastic month of activities designed to connect, engage, and inspire! From active outings including walks to a fantastic cooking session to a diabetes awareness talk and a Dance to Health session towards the end of the month, there’s something for everyone. Remember, spaces can be limited and all activities must be  booked in advance for any activity you’d like to join.

Book Club

Thursday 2nd October

Venue: Beacon Court Communal Lounge 10:30am – 12:30pm

Cost: £2.50 (for staffing and support)

Join us as we love to talk all things books and always on the hunt for new authors and stories. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available.

Shopping Trip

Wednesday 8th October, Departing Beacon at 10:30am returning for 2:30pm

We will be going to Bentley Bridge retail park.

Cost £2.50 (for staffing and support) plus £5.50 transport.

 

 

Garden Centre trip

Friday 10th October, Departing Beacon at 10:30am, Returning for 2:30pm.

Tandem

Monday 13th and Monday 27th October – 10am -12pm

Halpenny Green, Bobbington DY7 5EP

Cost £3.50 (for staffing and support) £7.70 Transport

Join us for our Tandem bike rides with our instructors.

 

Swimming

Tuesday 14th October,

Bert Williams Leisure Centre, Nettelfolds way, Bilston WV14 0EF

Departing Beacon at 11am, Returning 1:30pm

Cost £6.50 (for staffing, support and lane hire) plus £5.50 transport (please remember £1 for the locker)

 

Pop up cinema

Thursday 16th October, 10:30am – 12:30pm.

We will be having our pop-up Cinema in Beacon’s communal lounge. The film will be “Wonka” a film based around the story of Charlie and the chocolate factor. Refreshments will be available. Cost £5

 

West Park Walk

Friday 17th October, Departing Beacon at 10:30am, Returning by 2pm.

Cost £2.50 (for staffing and support) plus £5.50 transport.

Join us for a gentle stroll around West Park, with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and socialise. Our staff will be there throughout to assist and ensure the walk is accessible for everyone.

 

Cooking Session

Monday 20th October 1pm – 3pm

Lifestyle Kitchen, Cost £2.50 (for staffing and support).

We will be cooking a quiche in our day centre kitchen.

The ingredient list will be enclosed in this newsletter.

 

Bowling

(£7.25 paid directly at the venue)

Friday 24th October

Tenpin Dudley, Castlegate way, Dudley DY1 1TA

Departing Beacon at 10:30am, returning 1:30pm

Cost £2.50 (for staffing and support) plus £5.50 transport

Come and join us for a fun morning of ten pin bowling. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a first-time player, everyone is welcome our friendly group is always keen to find new teammates. Could you be the one to get the top score?

Beacon staff will be on hand throughout to support you and make sure the session is accessible and enjoyable for all.

 

November Booking session

Thursday 30th October. 10am-12pm

Please come along to our Booking sessions for our activities throughout November. This session will be held at Beacon court’s communal lounge.

 

Wombourne Railway Walk

Friday 31st October

Departing Beacon at 10:30am, Returning at 1:30pm.

Cost £2.50 (for staffing and support) plus £5.50 transport

Join us for a stroll along Wombourne railway walk with plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and socialise. Our staff will be there throughout to assist and ensure the walk is accessible for everyone.

Diabetes Awareness Talk

Tuesday 21st October

1.15pm in the Lifestyle Centre Social Room

Diabetic Eye Screening now available at Beacon Centre. Diabetes can damage your vision and lead to blindness. Diabetic eye disease often has no symptoms until it’s advanced, with early detection and treatment this can be prevented. Free diabetic eye screening is now available for people living with diabetes from the Beacon Centre.

Dance to Health

Wednesday 22nd October

1.15pm – 2.15pm in the Lifestyle Centre Social Room

Dance to Health is an innovative programme that enhances strength and balance through the creativity of dance. Led by a professional dance artist, the programme features a series of short dance sequences set to music, designed to improve your balance, boost your confidence, and leave you smiling. The sessions can be adapted for participants who prefer to sit or stand.
