Frequently Asked Questions

Who can take part?

Our Colour Run is fun for all the family, but we ask that under 16s are accompanied by an adult. Children will also have to be able to keep their sunglasses on throughout the event. Unfortunately this race is not suitable for dogs, however if you rely on a guide dog and would like to take part, please contact a member of the team on SupportUs@beaconvision.org and we will happily pair you up with a guide runner.

What do I wear?

Firstly all participants (whatever your age) need to wear sunglasses! You need to protect those eyes!

Please wear clothing and footwear suitable for a running event, wearing a bright white t-shirt will make the colour powder pop but a lightly coloured top will also work.

When you buy your tickets you’ll also be able to also purchase a Colour Run pack which contains a pair of sunglasses, a white sweatband, a Beacon silicon wristband and a paint packet.

Where is the race?

It’s at East Park, Wolverhampton, WV1 2BS

Registration is from 9.30am, we’ll have a warm up at 10am with the race starting shortly afterwards.

How do I clean up after the race?

If it’s a nice day you can just shake the colours off your clothes but you may want to bring a change of clothes if it’s wet weather. A towel will also help you brush off any access before you leave and if you come via car or public transport you should bring a black bag to sit on just in case you still have any excess colour on you. We recommend a shower when you get home as well!

The colour powder will wash out of most clothing but since we haven’t tested every fabric under the sun you may want to leave your favourite running clothes or best trainers at home. Dust off as much powder as possible before washing. We advise you to wash all your clothes first separately in cold water.

Can I consume alcohol at the event?

Beacons Family Colour run event is an alcohol-free event, we promise that you will have a lot of fun without drinking!

Can my family and friends come to watch the race?

All participants and spectators attend and enter the event entirely at their own risk and won’t be permitted to access the designated running route or stand near the colour stations for safety reasons. Spectators will be able to access the football field where you can safely watch the race.

Can I enter if I am pregnant or have a health condition?

If you are pregnant or have any issues with your health, we recommend you to consult your doctor before entering Beacon’s Colour Run. Although our mission is to make the race as safe as possible to every participant, there is always the possibility of unforeseeable incidents (such as falling or bumping into another person). Please disclose any health issue you may have upon registration.

How can I get to the venue?

If you’re driving there’s free parking within the park grounds. If you’d like to plan a journey via public transport you can do so here. Don’t forget to bring a black bag or a towel to sit on just in case you’ve got any excess colour left on you when you leave!

Where can I find the terms and conditions?

We’ve pulled them together for you here. If you have any unanswered questions though you can email us at supportus@beaconvision.org

What is the paint made of?

The coloured powder we use is really safe. It’s manufactured from the raw materials that are approved for use in food and/or cosmetic applications. The power used for this event are non-toxic and non-irritant to skin. The powder also conforms to EN-71-3 toy safety standards.

Can I take my phone on the run?

You can carry your mobile phone during the run however we would recommend you put it in a clear zipped bag to protect it from the coloured powder.

Can my dog take part?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to participate in the colour run race. Dog owners bringing their pets to the park where the event is held do so at their own risk, considering factors like loud noises and crowds that may affect their pets. However, the coloured powder used in the event is safe and does not pose any harm to dogs or other animals after the event.
