Forget Me Not 2025

As we celebrate Beacon’s 150th anniversary, we invite you to join us for one of the most meaningful events in our calendar — our annual Forget Me Not Service. This special evening offers a chance to come together, reflect, and celebrate the lives of loved ones we hold close in our hearts.

The service will include words of reflection from Lisa Sadler-Todd, Chief Executive of Beacon, and Jan Burns MBE, Chief Executive of the National Dignity Council and a performance from the Penn Singers choir.

A tree of love and remembrance

Each year, our Forget Me Not Tree becomes a symbol of love, memory, and connection.
This year, our beneficiaries are continuing Beacon’s proud heritage of craftwork by hand-making woven decorations, each featuring the name of a loved one written on a ribbon.

These decorations will be displayed on our official Forget Me Not Tree in the Lighthouse Restaurant,  a place where memories are cherished and stories shared throughout the festive season.

You can dedicate a ribbon in memory of your loved one by making a donation through our Virtual Forget Me Not Tree here. All names featured on the virtual tree will also appear on our real Forget Me Not Tree, proudly displayed in the Beacon Centre. New for 2025, we know that for many of us our pets are a special part of the family, so this year were giving you the opportunity to remember them too.

If you’re joining us for the service, you’ll also have the opportunity to dedicate a ribbon in person on the evening, a touching way to remember and honour those who are no longer with us.

Donate in memory

Your donation in memory of a loved one helps us continue our vital work supporting people living with sight loss to live independently and with dignity.

  • £10 could provide almost an hour of braille support.

  • £50 could fund two and a half hours of digital training for someone with sight loss.

Every gift, large or small, helps keep Beacon’s light shining for generations to come.

You can donate and dedicate a message online through our  Virtual Forget Me Not Tree

Together, we remember

Your love and generosity make this event possible each year.
By remembering together, we honour the past, celebrate the present, and keep hope shining for the future.

A lasting tribute

Alongside the Forget Me Not Tree, we’ll also display a Book of Remembrance in our Lighthouse Restaurant throughout December. You’re welcome to visit and add a personal message or reflection at any time during the month. We will be recording an audio version of the book, and you are welcome to record an audio message if you would prefer, please contact supportus@beaconvision.org or call 01902 880 111.
