Care & Support
At Beacon, we’re proud to provide tailored, specialist social care services that enable people with sight loss to live independently and confidently in their own homes. Based at Beacon Court, an independent living complex located at the heart of our Sedgley Centre, our care services are designed to meet the unique needs of blind and partially sighted people.
Our care team are locally based, with some staff being with us for many years. Our team is recruited based on our charity values, with experience in sight loss, dementia, mental health, complex needs and end of life care. Our staff meet all training requirements and are regularly assessed in line with competency frameworks.
We are CQC rated ‘Good’ and our care is tailored to the individual needs of your loved one, giving them the time and support they deserve.
Beacon also offers sight loss awareness training for external care providers and organisations. This training equips carers with the knowledge and skills they need to support blind and partially sighted individuals effectively. By sharing our expertise, we help to improve the quality of care and promote a deeper understanding of sight loss across the wider care sector.
