For more than 150 years, Beacon has been here to make sure no one has to face sight loss alone. Every day, we support people across the Black Country and Staffordshire with information, low vision support, wellbeing services, digital skills, transport, social activities and practical help to stay independent and connected.
Leaving a gift in your will is a special way to continue that support into the future. Whether your gift is large or small, it can help Beacon provide life-changing services for people affected by sight loss for years to come.
Why leave a legacy to Beacon?
Living with sight loss can be frightening and overwhelming. With the right support, people can adapt, rebuild confidence, develop new skills and continue doing the things that matter to them. A gift in your will helps make that possible.
Legacy gifts already make a meaningful difference to Beacon, contributing around 12% of our income. They help us sustain vital services and plan ahead with confidence, so we can be there for people impacted by sight loss when they need us most.
In 2015, 167,000 people in the West Midlands were living with sight loss. By 2032, 236,000 people in the West Midlands will be living with sight loss.
How your gift could help
Your legacy could help Beacon continue to support thousands of people living with sight loss, including practical help for people who are newly diagnosed, opportunities to build independence, and activities that reduce isolation and bring people together.

Making or updating your will
If you are thinking about leaving a gift to Beacon, we always recommend speaking to a solicitor or professional will writer. They can help make sure your wishes are clearly recorded and that the people and causes you care about are looked after.
You can choose to leave a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or a particular item. You do not need to tell us if you have included Beacon in your will, but if you would like to let us know, completing a pledge card can help us plan for the future and gives us the chance to thank you properly.
