Our Centres

The Beacon Centres at Sedgley and Stourbridge are central to our community, providing space for members to come together, make new friends and develop a wide range of skills.

Whether you’re looking for help with reaching your career goals, need to regain your confidence with day-to-day skills, or simply want to connect with your community and meet like-minded people, head to your local centre to see how we could support you.

Sedgley

Our Sedgley site was the first Beacon Centre we built, back in 1963. Since then, the site has seen some redevelopment, including the addition of our supported accommodation at Beacon Court. The centre also has a fantastic restaurant on-site for residents and visitors.

Stourbridge

Following on from the great work established at our Beacon Centre in Sedgley, we opened a second site in Stourbridge to open up facilities to communities in that area.

What our centres offer

Our centres provide a range of activities designed to improve confidence, reduce loneliness and give people the chance to learn new skills and become more independent. The types of activities available include:

  • Health and wellbeing sessions
    including physical activity programmes aimed at improving mobility and balance, plus lots more.
  • Social groups
    including coffee mornings, interest groups and trips out, to help you meet like-minded people.
  • Skills training
    from employment and digital skills to arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and anything else you might like to master!

Events

Our centres regularly run events to bring our community together and fundraise for the work we do. Keep an eye on our News page for anything that’s coming up! You can also hire our function rooms for events and conferences, if you’re looking to plan an event of your own.

Getting to our centres

If you live in the West Midlands and need help getting to one of our centres, we provide a free transport service to make reaching us as straightforward as possible. Our fleet of five minibuses operates across areas including:

  • Wolverhampton
  • Dudley
  • Bilston
  • Brierley Hill
  • Stourbridge
