People looking to kickstart their career and earn a wage at the same time are being invited to apply for job placements at the Beacon Centre.

The sight loss charity has several posts available through the Government’s Kickstart scheme which offers funding for employers to create jobs for young people.

There are Retail Assistant posts available in the charity’s Sedgley, Bilston and Halesowen stores as well as a Marketing and Digital Assistant role helping the organisation to make a difference on social media.

In the retail department, people will be helping to ensure the stores run effectively selling items to generate income for the charity’s work and the Marketing and Digital Assistant will help with creating content for Beacon’s social media channels and assist with fundraising activities.

To be eligible applicants need to be aged between 16 to 24 and in receipt of Universal Credit, people can contact their Job Centre Work Coach to apply.

Beacon Centre People Manager Debbie Fox said: “We’re delighted to be part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme which has enabled us to offer these roles to young people in the area. We’d encourage anyone interested in working in these sectors to apply via their Job Centre Work Coach.”
